Some of you guys might remember me, i used to map NZP but then got a new rig, im picking up mapping again, but this thread isn't about that. I know pretty much all of GML (Game Maker Language) including the 3d shit, and i want to try and make a game using the quake engine. What do i need to code it and what language is it in? Link to a begginner tutorial on the subject? Thanks alot for the help ahead of time

EDIT:

You should know basic C for the game logic code (QC) and engine programming..
Also you might need modeling programs, map editor (VHE or Worldcraft), QC compiler
(FTEQCC or FricQC) and for the engine too... (Depends what you use...)

Also you should play the shit out of Quake for learning how the game actually works.

Things you should avoid:

- Starting a project page on moddb without ANY coder or content...
- Using Kuroks sources, most tutorials wont work with Kuroks code.
- Decompiling others qc sources and copy/pasting sources without asking / credits.
- Stealing / ripping other models without permission..
- Making a Quake ripoff from a commercial game, make something original / new/own...
