i've had this idea since 1.1 beta. but is it possible to make a map that if you do a certain thing it'll save your progress on that map, and make you jump to another map that has to do with the story? but it keeps the round you're on and continues from there. just like Black ops: Moon or something alike.

Yeah, it definitely could be done. There was the same thing in BTL, and Senior released the source code for that, so we could take a look at it.

that'd be great. i've been wanting to do something like this for a very long time, and hopefully it can be done. Or for someone to do it first.

Youre a bit out of the way (I mean, not right. No need of restarting all stuff (Maybe for complete different maps) but doing other stuff for this). You can always use a "Teleport" script (It can be done if you know) or wait till we add that entity to JMF(If we do, i dont really want to break maps even more)

Because adding an entity that no maps are using will break them... xD

Yes, give a month mapping in a game like World at War and you'll know this, you get console spam for having DLC3 Teleporters code but not implementing them, of course it's not game breaking but console spam = bad performance.

Or using someone else's scripts but not implementing the entire script and only using part of it, it can break the entire code if not scripted properly, as we saw with people who used Bam's Perk System, if one did not implement every perk in the script it would break it.

Wait, is this about WaW? That's the stuff you were mostly talking about?

(I'm not really in this conversation though)

So...I had thought the OP was talking about "teleporting" to a new map, which would be (more?) memory efficient, as we would then transition to a different map and not have to deal with the addition of extra brush strokes if both areas were in the same map.

NZP isn't like world at war, DLC3 teleporters aren't in NZP, Bam's perk system isn't in NZP, your post made no sense to me. Plus, peri's numerous patches so far and Naievil's dev build of the Amm-O-Matic modded NZP haven't broken any maps. So, adding a new entity won't break maps unless someone adds it to a map and it's bugged in the code.

Hmm... Think about this:

We are 2 Brothers, with a different PC each other.

Brother 1 Installs NZP 1.0.X patch that adds a new Entity called func_teleport.
Brother 1 Makes a map where teleporters are very much used.
Brother 1 Post it.

Now, Brother 2, Installs NZP 1.0 DEMO. No Patch. He wants to play with him (Think about if MP code is working) and they setup everything. What happens? WOW! Bro you cant teleport! (even connect as versions and CRC is different...)

Do you really know how much people thinks NZP 1.0 DEMO for PSP stinks? 1/3 of community.

Map jumping? AyhaOfmcAldGAAAAAElFTkSuQmCC

1/3 uses NZP 1.0 DEMO

1/3 uses NZP Unofficial Patches

So: How broken is the community for you? For me it is like in 3 main chunks.

But of course that will happen. But seriously, that's like saying someone on minecraft 1.8.x will try to join a 1.7.x server. People won't be that silly to not think to install the same versions of nzp. Some are, and then you tell them why it's not working.

It's an example you dumb ass, adding code to a game but not utilizing and having it in there along with other code can break it.

You said this:

WillWow wrote:Because adding an entity that no maps are using will break them... xD

And yes, it can break it, it depends on what the script is and how it affects the game, but yes, it can break maps that don't use them, what I gave was an example, you were obviously too incompetent to see that, I wouldn't expect any less of you anyway.

And...

WillWow wrote:

That would be your stupidity and lack of comprehension skills, I don't see how one could not understand what I wrote.

So now we're talking Minecraft?
