Site Changes. (Please Read)

Myself and Dr_Mabuse have been changing this site and have implemented a few new things.

One of the first things you will notice right off the bat is that we have implemented a "points" and "reputation" system. To give someone rep there is a thing on the right side of their post which says "+,-". Points are given each time someone makes a thread in a specific section, posts in a specific section, gains a friend, posts in a certain area, etc. I have customized this system to the fullest. Anyone trying to "cheat" the system will face consequences.

Points can be used for a variety of different things, these include:

-Changing your name (Cost: 300 points)
-Adding a custom usertitle (Cost: 300 points)
-Changing the color of a custom usertitle (Cost: 150 points)
-Changing the font of a custom usertitle (Cost: 150 points)
-Changing the text of a custom usertitle (Cost: 150 points)
-Custom user icon (Cost: 400)
-Basic Html markup (Cost: 200 points)
-Marquee (Cost: 500 points)

To use these points you must make a request in the "Requests" section.

Each staff member (Administrators, Developers, Moderators) has been assigned a free usertitle which represents their current position on the site. Regular members have been assigned the usertitle "Member".

I have personally tooken the liberty of dividing the "Developers Maps" section into two separate sub-forums, "Active Mappers" and "Retired Mappers". This is to keeps things a tad more organized.

I have also added a section called "Trash Can". All locked threads will be moved into this section.

We have also added the ability to use signatures. Check your profile options for more details on that. Signatures that are too big will be removed. 400x200 pixels is the size limit.

We also gave a description to every section. Please read it before posting to clarify if you are posting in the right section.

We removed all the regular smilies and replaced them with 7 less annoying ones. This is being done to hopefully prevent over usage, we will be adding more though.

We have added an "Accounts" category. Feel free to take a look at the new sections inside it.

Added a "Work In Progress" section. Feel free to post your W.I.P's in there.

Added new forum Icons.

New members will now receive a "Welcome" private message which is basically a quick guide that teaches them what this site is about. And where to find things.

Added a few more smilies; if I see any smiley over-usage I will remove them

Added custom user icons for Developers, Administrators, Moderators.

Added multi-quote button icon, added quote button icon.

Added a Gfx category. Please take a look at the sections inside it.

Added custom user icons for Members and Leechers. It takes 10 points to advance from Leecher to Member.

Added a usergroup called "Loyal", added an icon for it as well.


We will be constantly updating the forum with new features and such, make sure to frequently check this thread for updates! If you have any questions feel free to private message an Administrator!

I kicked out the annoying smileys yesterday and added some new ones..
But still dont uveruse them because they are big, and can slowdown computers with low ram.

Capital ideas if I must say so myself. Im very glad that this forum is finally getting the attention it deserves and its great too. Guys are doing an excellent job keep it up.

I dont know about you guys, but I think the sigs should not be advertising 3rd party things for the users, like sub's. Can result in ultra spammers leading to virus pagers ext.

Alright I'm already getting annoyed. I removed the star wars smiley I added due to over usage. If smileys keep getting spammed I will remove every single one of them, stop this.

And if they do gain good opinions, they tend to continue trying to make things like the original. Like you making nzpmaps and then later on deciding to make a map before 1.2 because people like your maps.

OR
2. You enjoy having power and having your way around the site.
There is nothing wrong with the above scenarios, but it is how the human mind works. They enjoy power and they enjoy killing time.

I don't care about the "basic human mind.", if you want to share your stuff that's fine. If you are going to do so do it in the appropriate section and stop spamming every single thread with that crap. It only promotes trolling and spamming. I don't care if you "don't give a moses last shit about anyone's opinions." This site isn't your little spamming playground. We don't need that shit around here.

I make maps because I have a passion for NZP, releasing them is a different story. I release my maps in the hope that the community actually grows from the support.

You honestly think I have nothing better to do then help this site? I help this site in the hope that the community will grow; instead I am bombarded with spammers and people who make an account, download all our maps, then leave.

Spamming isn't some "game" that needs to be brought into every thread. If the spammers actually smartened up and contributed I can almost guarantee you that the community would grow, perhaps others would follow along and do the same. Honestly when I say contribute, it doesn't even have to be anything big. Even saying things such as "Thanks for doing this, I hope all goes well with the rest of your game" is a form of contributing. We currently need icons for "Quote" and "Multi-Quote" buttons, that shouldn't be too hard to make.

In short, there are many ways to contribute, and spamming crap is not one of them. It just promotes more spamming. Call me "mean" if you want, but we seriously need to start cracking down.

This site is becoming a joke; and I've been working my ass off to change that.
