We're not restricting anything. An age restriction is a definite no. There are too many ways around it and age doesn't always equate to maturity level. Not to mention the fact that we'd be knowingly censoring a large portion of the NZP audience. A lot of little kids play this game, especially those who can't afford/don't know how to torrent/don't know how to use regular WaW zombies.
As for the Bot account that sends the welcome message to all new members, it does have a tutorial in it that explains how to obtain NZP maps from this site (lol at Sub who still thinks that it's my "goof off" account, it was actually made so that my inbox/sentbox wouldn't be filled up and instead I'd have an alt account do it). There is also a hyperlink on the homepage that quite literally says "Click here for help with downloading and using NZP maps". When you click on it, it leads you to a step by step youtube tutorial that I had personally made where I go through every step bit by bit. Add on the fact that we have a chatbox that you can also ask for help on, and there is no excuse aside from the fact that some people are new to the forum scene/internet.
This site currently has 5831 members, 7947 posts, and 1018 topics. We gain 9.87 users per day on average, so about 10. It's actually quite a big forum, and it grows at a rapid rate. Problem is, a small margin of the members actually contribute/post.
I've tried making this site more aesthetically pleasing (adding new smilies, new rank titles and icons, a customized points system, a reputation system, letting people use signatures, adding new sections, new forum/category icons, more usergroups, etc). I've also tried making a variety of tutorials that I've placed around the site in order to make things easier for newcomers.
However, nothing works. Reason being: You can't make people care, you really can't. Some people just want the maps, others want an NZP download, others are just watching and reading, etc. Which leads to a relatively dead site with a lot of inactive members. Every once in a while we will get a member that is actually legitimate and actually stays (we had loftail, RedDevil, Oraki, etc to name a few). Though, the majority vastly outweighs the minority.
This site is pretty dead, as is NZP. Soul knows this, as do most of us who are aware. I still come to moderate/make sure things are in check from time to time. And to post every once in a while when I feel like it.
Mabuse, Soul, and Myself have attempted on multiple occasions to make this site better/move to others hosts/improve. It was all for naught.
I do, however, like seeing enthusiasm from some of you who still enjoy the site and want it to improve. And to those people I say, good luck, and if you really want the site to improve you have to put in some type of positive effort and not just bitch about how it currently is.
