Quake 1 homebrew has been released for the 3DS, do you think it would be possible to get a port of NZP on to it, now of course, it wouldn't be easy, but possible with the source code...
Probably no actual reason to do it, but i was just wondering if it was poossible.
Sadly, this will never be the case. I've thought about this since Ninjhax was first introduced:
1. I've delved into 3DS homebrew before, and trust me, it is not pretty. We do not have the access right now that we do with the PSP.
2. This article describes using a DS flashcart to play Quake. Now, this could be done on a 3DS, too, but the memory is locked. What I mean by that is the 3DS can play DS carts, but only in a specific DS mode, like how the PS Vita has a specific PSP mode that doesn't connect to other parts of the kernel. Therefore, you would need to create NZP for the Nintendo DS in the first place and have it stable enough to run. Smealum did create Portal for the DS, and while it was fantastic, there's no way that NZP would be able to run. The hardware just isn't powerful enough.
Plus Quake DS is (from what I've read) a
really trimmed down version of Quake. Not to mention the fact that NZP is using a different version of Quake (glquake, right?)
I'm sorry to burst the bubble
