Here

Using lights is simple,

for neat looking lighting

add a block or circle on the ceiling and texture it white.
then put the light entity (NOT LIGHT_ENVIROMENT) right under the block/circle

don this for ever room, and while you test it, if a crucial place is dark, add a light there

for just lights

go to your map tab and select Map Properties. then you will either see "Default light level" OR "Ambient Light" ( SUNLIGHT IS ONLY FOR UNSHELTERED AREAS, such as outside )

some games have different light requirements and such.

for NZP, the proper light levels are

150
200
300

i would go for 200, not to bright, not too dark

Oh, you wanted shadows.

dont do the default light level, use the first thing i said ( put a white block on the ceiling, then put a light under it )
